For reuse, format the drive using the installer. To prevent curiosity during sale, perform a wipe writing random values or zeros—though this isn't recommended for SSDs.

You're setting up Windows 8.1 on a pre-installed USB drive. Just plug it in, restart, navigate to BIOS, adjust boot priority, and run the installer while removing the partition in the installer. You don’t need to wipe the PC completely since you’re using it afterward.

You remove all SSD partitions, ensuring there are at least two: one for about 100 MB of boot data and another for the main operating system installation. After that, you choose the unused area and set up your desired partitions or proceed—creating the entire C:\ drive in a single step.
