Hello everyone, My family has a five-year-old computer that we’re handing over to a friend. It’s quite slow now, but I’ve noticed older machines run faster. I think the issue might be from too much clutter. We don’t need any files left behind—just reset it so it’s ready for the new owner. The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. Ensure you have the Windows installation media and the product key. Run dban to erase the drive and perform a fresh setup.

Find the Windows activation key and see if reinstalling from a USB or disk works for your old HP. Don’t need to erase anything.
