Checked the docking station setup. It needs up to two DisplayPort 1.2 cables for proper function. I think using them together gives the best performance. The problem is their longest usable distance is about 15 meters. You can extend that with active cables, but it’s unclear if such a station would be practical. I already have a second monitor and mouse in another room, both connected directly to the PC without needing a docking station. If you use the "30m Fibre Optic USB 3.0 Kabel" straight from your computer to your device, it should work perfectly. EDIT: Missed info on cable length requirements. https://www.tripplite.com/products/displ...able-types

The cable costs 300 euros, which is a bit high. That’s why I looked into the docking station. The USB over Ethernet option also caught my attention—what do you think?

Looking for options? I’m not familiar with USB over Ethernet, but I have a budget-friendly approach. Just connect a second, older or low-spec machine to the network. Use Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or the internet to link it to your main computer. You could run remote administration tools, share screens, and even control devices from far away—possibly even from a smartphone.

You just need a TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or similar setup—no hard wiring required. As long as you have a permanent license, it works perfectly.
