Delay in Windows File Explorer can occur due to various factors such as system load, disk activity, or software issues.
Windows icon + E equals a 0.1 second pause when starting from the taskbar, lasting 3-4 seconds. This causes frustration. SSD setup is working fine. Running devmgmt.msc shows 500/380 MB under Run settings with a 0.1 delay. Right-clicking the Windows logo opens Device Manager with a 3-4 second lag. Both issues are quite bothersome. Need assistance resolving this.
And this is really interesting problem at last. It sounds like easy to fix one, but it's probably more complicated that it looks. First what I would do is to create any shortcut on desktop to any program and try to run it and compare to run by double click exe file. If shortcut create delay, then problem is with shortcuts (lnk). Then I would check registry for .lnk extension and compare it to the same registry keys on other computer with win10. For example: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.lnk HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.lnk HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.lnk HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{00021401-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WOW6432Node\CLSID\{00021401-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Classes\CLSID\{00021401-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} etc. In case any major differences, you can try to backup your registry keys and import default keys from other system.
