Others have reported similar problems after reinstalling Windows. The issue persists with both the Start button and pressing the Windows key. It seems to take around a second for the Start menu to appear.

It features a small animation that enhances the experience. I appreciate how it adds smoothness.

It's only the Windows animations, you can eliminate them by following these steps: 1. Look for 'This PC' and right-click the 'tile'. Click Properties 2. On the left-hand menu, select Advanced System Settings 3. In the Performance tab, choose Settings 4. Turn off the top 7 (that's what I've done), it improves the speed and responsiveness

No, guys, you're not catching my drift. The animation doesn't START until about 1 second after I hit the start button. It never used to do it. I've been using Windows 10 since it came out, pretty much. I did a fresh intall of the updated Windows 10 ISO not long ago and everything worked fine for a while. Now the start menu is acting up. Could it be something to do with me disabling Cortana? Edit: Fixed!!! Went into SystemApps in the Windows folder and there were 2 Cortana folders. One folder was the disabled one and the other must've been some sort of bugged copy. I deleted the bugged folder and there's no delay anymore.

The GPU may struggle to render the Start Menu even with a strong GPU. Ensure you have the most recent AMD graphics drivers installed, and consider trying the latest beta versions if available. Uninstall, restart, and reinstall them for best results.
