Hello, I’m facing an issue with deleting the operating system from a hard drive. My new OS is installed on an SSD, but sometimes the PC boots using the HDD, and I don’t want to format it since my data remains. Is there a method to extract just the Windows installation from a disk?

You don’t know how to completely wipe the entire drive without affecting it. You can adjust your system’s BIOS settings to exclude the old drive from the boot priority list, which stops the computer from attempting to use it during future starts.

Remove the drive from the boot queue. You can't simply delete just Windows; the boot record stays intact even after deleting files. This means you'll start with a severely broken Windows installation if the drive remains in the queue. It's strongly advised to back up and format the drive right away.
