I was really aiming for project cars during the summer steam sale because it seemed appealing, but the crash mechanics pushed me away from full immersion. That decision didn’t sit well. Unfortunately, finding a suitable replacement that matches both great graphics and solid crash physics is tough. I already own Beam.ng Drive and Dirt Rally, which I enjoy in their unique ways, but neither captures the arcade feel of a car race or the behind-the-car crash action I’m after. I also have Next Car, but it lacks F1 tracks and doesn’t offer the kind of high-speed destruction you’re looking for. It feels like the perfect game might still be missing. Anyone know of another title that delivers impressive crash physics alongside good visuals? I just want to experience cars speeding past and breaking parts at high speeds for a bit of fun.

Given the current status of project vehicles, it seems unlikely we'll get another one that's worth our time in a few years, let alone if they ever produce another.

Are you sure? It looks like the first version still requires fixes and development work... But yeah, those PC games were stunning.
