Because you mentioned you're creating a second system for any reason, that's the sole justification I use. That means you're on the right track—go for it with a 5800x3d. If you're unsure, just keep going; your PC is already more than sufficient.

It varies by game and graphics card. A stronger CPU isn't useful if your GPU is still the bottleneck. My brother upgraded from a 3600 to a 5800x3D and it more than halved his frame rates, even for games like WoW and Warzone. Complex scenes with many draw calls—such as large multiplayer or MMOs—tend to be heavily dependent on CPU performance, especially with efficient caching. I ran some tests this weekend comparing a 7800x3D and a 7700x in several titles. The biggest difference was the lack of noticeable frame drops, even though the 7700 could reach higher rates. It seems the 7800x3D maintained smoother performance without those occasional slow spots.

People can't simply stop sharing such content without evidence. Increasing frame rates isn't just about doubling; it depends on hardware and settings. This game we’re talking about is heavily influenced by CPU performance, not just graphics. Intel i7 2600k and AMD Ryzen 7700x setups won’t double frames from 3600x to 7700x at 1440p or lower. Even with higher resolutions like 5800x3d or 7800x3d, the gains aren’t as significant. Some AAA titles saw only modest improvements, and dropping to mid-30s still doesn’t ruin gameplay when using sync options. Only games like Valorant and CS:GO showed real frame boosts, and even then it was a small increase. The 3600x is already close to ten times faster than the i7 2600k. A 5600x offers only a modest 10-15% boost. Unless you’re playing at very low resolutions like 576p, you won’t see double the frames.

I mean perhaps there are fewer dips, but it's tough to spot since neither was paired with my 3600. I think it might just be a top-notch chip. Setting the negative voltage offset could have caused it to behave unusually—suddenly using over 100W and benchmarks spiking a lot. Most games on both the 3600 and 5800x3D + 3070 run smoothly, with minimal bottlenecks. Basically, these CPUs don’t push limits much, so the difference isn’t huge overall. No, it wasn't that way, lol.
