After ESL one I’m still eager to dive into CS. I haven’t really practiced much yet—I’m just trying to understand guns and shooting mechanics. But there’s a mental side that bothers me a lot. I feel physically unstable; my hands shake, my arms get jittery, and my heart races uncontrollably. It gives me an adrenaline boost, but it also makes things harder for me. I struggle to stay calm, and once it starts, it’s tough to regain control. Many professional shooters face the same challenges, not just in games but in general gaming. Have you experienced similar issues? How did you manage them? Is there anything you’ve tried to improve it? Thanks in advance for your advice!

It reflects our natural way of being. When I play, I stay calm and focused, moving slowly and thoughtfully. My friends get excited when they play, especially when shooting, and their energy is intense—sometimes they shake their mouse while aiming. It seems like this is how people are wired. Usually I don’t play to win or compete; I enjoy the experience without pressure. For your next game, try playing without worrying about winning. Breathe deeply, relax, and take your time—it will help you slow down.

Your wrist may feel a buzzing sensation and a sense of instability, making it hard to maintain a firm grip.

It's fast, isn't it? What you're talking about is keeping your composure. If you see pros handling pressure well, it's because they practice a lot.

I'm slowly working through this, but my sensitivity is quite high and moving my arm feels awkward. The main issue isn't the jitter, but my arms feel stiff and I can't place them correctly. Edit: I'm sitting lower than I should, with my elbow below the mouse level, making it even harder to control my hand movements. Sadly, the gas lift on the chair is broken—not just the chair itself. My pulse jumps and my arm feels wobbly, which makes proper mouse positioning nearly impossible. Usually my wrist stays on the mousepad. Do you have any suggestions to help with this? Playing more might help, but it's frustrating, especially since I already have low patience with myself.

I’d consider exercising first, especially if you have a schedule. Adding simple stretches or exercises like playing head-to-shoulder, knees-to-toes can be beneficial. Doing these beforehand may help you relax and stay focused.

General sensitivity settings are 400 dpi and range from 1.5 to 3.5 in-game. It might not work for everyone, but it can help sharpen your aim. Another factor unrelated to staying calm is adjusting your crosshair. You can customize it using the provided tool: http://tools.dathost.net/
