I possess a fresh CPU, a Ryzen 7 3700x. It runs at 3.6GHz by default. At low load it stays around 70-75°C, but when pushing to 4.2-4.3GHz it heats up significantly. I haven’t performed any overclocking yet, and even with Windows settings set to balance or power saving, the temperatures remain high, especially during games where they hit 80-90°C. I’m unsure why it’s defaulting to higher speeds and I don’t want to risk damaging the cooler. Could you help explain this behavior? What adjustments can I make to keep it stable at 3.6GHz?

Drivers are current, but the BIOS hasn't been updated yet—I'll attempt that.

Bios are current but remain on version 4.3. Running at 1.45V suggests you might want to adjust it to 1.4–1.37V for better performance.

At minimal usage it increases to higher frequency and voltage, yet with complete core load it stays below 1.3v and operates at a reduced frequency. The temperature rise during light load is likely just the ramp-up period for CPU and fan.
