A Capcom community manager shared updates about Dead Rising 3 at 60fps on the Steam forum. Running at 60fps should work smoothly if your setup supports it. Two videos demonstrating the game at that speed are available for download: one here and another here. The menus appear well-designed, offering many options and fully rebindable keys. However, it remains uncertain how the game will perform with kb/m. It seems the developers may have avoided testing 60fps during porting and kept it at 30fps with an uncap option, possibly to resolve any issues. For more details, you can check the discussion thread on Steam or the provided links. The game's release date is September 5th, which falls outside the typical summer period.

Capcom must be concerned about people's games that could be damaged by GFWL and GameSpy shutdowns before focusing on their own titles.

MS isn't planning to close GFWL. They chose to let it continue. That's why Bulletstorm is now available again on Steam.

Wait... Bulletstorm operates on GFWL? That’s a surprise, should’ve checked the terms. Anyway, it’s still an enjoyable experience.

Please review this carefully, as it seems to be a request for proof.

For me, this means Microsoft is merely pushing the shutdown to a future date. A few developers are still working on porting their titles to Steamworks, similar to what was done with Dirt 3.

It looks like a reasonable performance, though the dev might think breaking 30 fps has some problems. It could be a physics issue—like the zombies flying when he shoots them. It doesn’t seem to have obvious major flaws. I’ll keep an eye on the Total Biscuit video and see what insights they share before deciding to purchase during the fall or winter sale.

From the gameplay video you watched on Xbox, the zombies flying when shot seems normal. I’m not sure why they mentioned the game was limited to 30fps before showing it running at full speed and reassuring there were no problems. It’s possible the criticism led them to improve it. The rest of the port appears strong, with many graphics settings and thoughtful features like remappable keys, separate key controls for inventory and abilities. Now the main questions are whether the game is well-optimized and if it includes smooth mouse handling.

If you're familiar with this series, you probably don't mind low frame rates. You'd appreciate it if it wasn't stuck to consoles like Dead Rising 1 and Read Dead Redemption. I bought it at a 25% discount during the Steam Day 1 promotion.
