Hello! I purchased a used machine that fits an Asus B350M and a Ryzen 3400G at a very low price. It had some unusual freezing issues when left unused for a while, along with other problems I didn’t remember. My initial idea was to reset it and update the BIOS, but I encountered strange glitches if the BIOS is corrupted or bricked. When I power on the computer, I see a prompt to press F2 or delete to enter the UEFI. If I don’t act, it boots normally without problems. However, trying to enter the UEFI causes the screen to go black and nothing happens. Pressing the power button makes it shut down instantly, suggesting the UEFI might not be loaded properly. I can still use F8 to access the boot menu. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

No action taken, are you encountering additional issues upon startup? Which key are you pressing? Switch to another key and enter BIOS; if successful, reset it to factory settings. A problem might exist, but it could be minor. If yes, proceed with clearing CMOS and test again.

Your system is running in an older setting. Enabling UEFI would make it invisible to the BIOS. Proceed as written unless you wish to reinstall the operating system.

I reviewed the manual several times and realized I missed the section about the EZ Update. It looks like the BIOS might have been damaged before, and applying the EZ update resolved that issue. The freezing problem remains uncertain, but your tips were really helpful. Thanks!
