W10 appears to rely on a peer-to-peer method for spreading updates. This means your computer could be sharing parts of the update with other W10 users online. Absolutely, that's a valid point. The fact it's available by default could be an issue for those with restricted data plans.

If bandwidth is restricted, it's better to maintain the limit but transfer files over the local network instead of downloading repeatedly across multiple PCs on W10. This helps conserve bandwidth.
