Hello, I see you're facing issues with dd-wrt on your virgin media hub. You've set up the hub as a modem and connected it to your router for WiFi and LAN, followed all instructions from Linksys, and even updated the firmware. Despite these steps, you're still experiencing no internet connection. Let's troubleshoot together.

Most third-party firmware updates follow a standard procedure for router flashing. For DD-WRT, it’s common to reset to defaults, install the initial/base firmware, reset again, then apply the final firmware before returning to defaults. You can adjust settings afterward. Have you followed this process? It’s worth noting, though, why some prefer OpenWRT instead.

Relies on the chipset. Certain models require a 30-30-30 reset, while others only need a basic reset.

DD-WRT is simpler for new users. I began with DD-WRT, progressed to OpenWRT, and finally used pfSense fully. I’m still relying on OpenWRT for access points.
