We're all familiar with basic starter kits like team group dimms. I've placed a preorder and bought everything for my new alder lake rig, but I'm struggling to find any good DDR5 options. The Corsair Dominator seems to be the top choice right now. I definitely want to get the g.skill TZ5 dimmer, but a UK supplier just emailed me about it. It's impossible to wait three weeks for DDR5 in my hands—haha. Whatever is available by Thursday, I hope the Corsair Dominator is in stock. Anyone else know when UK availability might come?

Given its recent introduction and low adoption rate, it's highly likely to have restricted supply.

I placed an order for one 8GB Crucial DDR5-4800 stick on Amazon Canada, expecting delivery next week. At least I can test it and confirm it functions, but pairing it with a 12900K/Asus Z690 Hero feels unrealistic. I’m aiming for two 16GB modules of 5200+ speed, ideally by 2022!

Spice up your message, Spicedaddy! It seems you're considering a quick upgrade and are curious about the upcoming changes in the tech scene. Expect a big shift around Thursday as the industry moves toward DDR5.

It makes little sense for them to release it before compatible CPUs are available. Delivery challenges probably contributed to the minor delay. I’d be cautious about how much RAM speed affects performance until I see more concrete pricing changes. Still, since you broke the silent agreement, it’s unlikely you’ll notice much.

It would have been nice to check the reviews for the alder lake with ddr5. I believe the latency might be higher than with DDR4, but it seems the CPU compensates. Honestly, we're still unsure. It's time for my PC upgrade, and I initially wanted the Ryzen 5950x, but now I'm leaning toward the alder lake. The ROG z690 motherboard supports pcie gen5 and ddr5, which is great since AMD can't match what I need right now—this gives me a bit of flexibility for future upgrades. Alder lake, keep it up!

I've received a confirmation from another major UK supplier that they won't be carrying any DDR5 models until December. To prepare, I secured a basic 4800MHz 40GB SSD from eBay so I could boot the system this weekend. My recommendation to anyone in the UK is to purchase what's available now instead of waiting.

It's frustrating. I might just purchase a DDR4 board since there are many available fast DDR4 kits.
