Hello all, I chose to purchase an Intel Core Ultra 5 225 CPU for my Gigabyte B860M AORUS ELITE WIFI6E LGA 1851 motherboard. The mobo website shows many RAM options due to the OC feature, but I don’t want to overclock them. I’m wondering which DDR5 RAM to select—4800/5600/6000/6400? Intel’s official site says the Ultra 5 225 supports up to 6400Mhz RAM, but I’m not sure if that applies with or without overclocking? Additionally, is CL30 better than CL38 (I’ve heard lower CL values are preferable)? What is the standard RAM speed supported by the board without overclocking? Please clarify so I can make an informed decision.

Above 4800 is essentially an overclock. Faster kits are simply certified for those higher speeds. The optimal balance between cost and performance is DDR5 6000 CL30.

Sweet spot #2 reaches 6400 MT/s using CL32. This is the maximum speed possible without requiring CUDIMM.
