I've been thinking about when DDR5 will become common for regular users instead of just data centers. It seems like it won't be available soon enough to worry about, right? Since new memory tech usually costs a lot, prices might drop a bit over the next couple of years.

data centers in Q3 and possibly Q4 of 2020, consumer demand around mid-2021. Pricing adjustments will likely require 1-2 years to align with or drop below DDR4 specifications.
