Back then I purchased the current system and bought two DDR5 6000 RAM kits. After assembling the setup and enabling XMP, everything worked smoothly. The OS installed correctly and everything functioned well until I encountered intermittent BSODs. That prompted me to watch a video by JayZ2Cents about unstable DDR5 at high speeds. By introducing some errors, I confirmed the issue and decided to lower the speed temporarily. I kept this adjustment for over a year and a half until the latest Intel BIOS update and microcode patch. I had read about previous BIOS updates that improved memory compatibility, but I never understood their impact. After the update, my RAM defaulted to 4000MT, so I re-enabled XMP at 6000MT, which seemed stable. I also ran a Windows Memory Test and it passed. Someone else has confirmed whether newer BIOS versions allow running memory at higher speeds? I previously tried Prime95 stress testing and noticed errors before; I assumed limited help was possible with weaker controllers.
It's typical for RAM speed and other parameters to reset following a BIOS update. These updates often enhance compatibility. I've seen this happen across different systems, particularly with early BIOS versions after new chipset releases. Four dimms serves as an example where maintaining higher speeds is more difficult.
You're testing 4x16 at Expo 6000 using a 7800X3D with July BIOS. The results are inconsistent, but with improved memory controllers and BIOS updates, we should see better performance soon.
I understand the ram speed would reset, though I didn't verify it post-update. The most surprising aspect is the performance boost I experienced after the BIOS update. Intel previously faced challenges keeping 4 dimensions stable at high speeds.
