Hi everyone. I hope everything is fine with you. I’m currently upgrading my Ryzen 7 2700X to a 5950X. I got a new ASUS 500 series motherboard and thought it was time to invest in some RAM too. I purchased two sets of Corsair Vengeance Pro (DDR4, 3600MHz, CL18) from Amazon, but they only allowed one per customer. So I bought them from different pages. I received both today, but as you can see, there’s a small difference between the two boxes—one lists Ryzen AMD and the other Intel XMP Certified. It’s odd for me, but it seems like a mix-up. On the first kit’s page it says AMD, while the second doesn’t mention it, though later in the description I searched online and found no matches for the same RAM type. All that I found was about mixing different brands or clock speeds. I’m wondering if I can still get the 3600MHz speed by combining these two kits. Thanks!

Avoid combining kits unless necessary, especially the same one, to ensure smooth operation. The verified stamp is designed so the components function together on Intel or AMD platforms. While they could be identical, differences might exist, making it risky. Still, since you already own them, it’s worth a try.

It seems likely, though I’m not certain. These kits probably match, and the Intel/Ryzen certification might just be marketing fluff. The best way to confirm is by testing them. If needed, you can always send back the item.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll give it a shot, just hoping the cooler gets here soon. I assumed this CPU was designed for AM4 and thought I could manage with 512MB of RAM. It’s surprising how much you need now—working or gaming on a PC with that amount feels outdated. I’m trying to future-proof my system.

AMD's official memory details for Zen 3 indicate: If your modules are single-rank, performance should be at 2933 MHz, but beyond that you're likely limited by the chip design. It's unlikely XMP will function without adjustments, though fine-tuning voltages might improve stability.

I think that is a very bad move right now. AM4 is the last platform for DDR4 and 16GB is still enough for most games. 32GB is the max any gamer should need for a good few years. By the time you need 64GB of RAM for just gaming, you'll want to move onto a new motherboard platform which will use DDR5 (and won't be compatiable with your DDR4). If I were you I'd return the intel half of the RAM. You really won't need it.
