DDR4 vs DDR5...
AM4 doesn’t accept DDR5; you’d have to switch the whole platform to use it. Apologies for misunderstanding. Performance will be constrained by PCIe 5 capabilities, plus factors like latency and dimmer speed (if consistent). In practice, these bandwidth numbers aren’t usually a big concern—just relative details.
That's correct, I thought it was a different issue. It looks like an XY case.
On AMD's end, moving to DDR5 RAM typically means transitioning to at least the 7000 series. This would certainly bring about notable gains, unless you're using a 5000 x3D model. However, the actual benefits might be limited because of the RAM type. The most effective comparison between DDR5 and DDR4 comes from Intel, since 1700 boards support either DDR4 or DDR5. Following reviews suggests that everyday tasks would likely see only minor improvements, with gaming seeing very little change. In my opinion, this is mainly due to the fact that we're still in the early phases of DDR5, and today's hardware and software haven't fully unlocked its capabilities.
