Yea, 2666 is a little slow for that system, your likely “giving up” 5% fps, maybe even a little more. But spending ~150 bucks on RAM for a few % boost may not be worth it. It’s hard to say. If you didn’t already have 32 GB it would be an easier answer. If you can buy 3600 and sell your 2666 to recoup some of the cost it would make more sense.
The PC originally came with 32GB RAM as requested. The motherboard can handle up to 128GB if the details are correct. Adding the Kingston Fury Renegade 3600MHz with XMP support and CL levels 15,16,18,19 shouldn't affect performance. Updated December 26, 2021 by Tonis89
Here are some simplified points:
- Standard motherboards usually come with four RAM slots, so you likely already have four sticks. To upgrade for better performance, you’d need to remove some of your existing RAM and install new ones.
- Mixing different RAM speeds can cause issues—swapping 2666 and 3600 will make everything run at the slower 2666 speed unless all RAM is replaced.
- Faster RAM can improve gameplay, but it’s not always worth the cost unless you can sell your old RAM to cover the price.

Right, that is what you would need to do. But I’m saying it doesn’t really make sense to spend ~150+ dollars just to get faster RAM. Also, if you do get the faster RAM, get 2x16 instead of 4x8. Less sticks is less stressful on the CPU’s memory controller and it will cost the same.
