DDR was always an enjoyable game, and I don’t remember when the latest version was released. I’m wondering what people consider the best game and whether it’s available for PC. If it is, where can I find it?

It's surprisingly old enough to benefit from emulation... unsettling, right?

Actually, the DRDR is native, and I’ll attempt it now.

DDR was from the PS2 time (actually a little before that, maybe a Dreamcast title too). I own several games and mats that work with my original PS3 to play PS2 games.

Step Mania resembles DDR but functions natively on PC without being genuine DDR. Does it perform well?

Last I played it everything was great. Most of the legit songs are from the royalty free space though. You can, however, find step files for pretty much any song you want. I think there are some song-packs floating around the net that contain ALL of the OG DDR content. I think there is also a way to rip the content from the OG game disks too. Only downside is the more generic art/background animations, but that was never an issue when playing the game IMHO. Oh, also look around for track packs from a game called "In The Groove". It was a hardcore DDR alike with great songs and higher difficulty if you were into that kind of thing.
