Hey there, friend. You're thinking about whether to buy the game in its current location or hold off. It depends—check if it's worth it right now or if waiting might be better.

I would say absolutely. It's had rough patches since launch, but the last update was fantastic, and there's a ton to do. It's looking like the next update to the game will also finally add vehicles which is great! I have about 260hrs in the game and it's still very fun to play! It's best if you play it with friends though, so if you want to play with a group feel free to add me on steam!

I’ll remember this deal, a few friends already own the game and only one enjoys it. I’ll try it out first before purchasing, since adding more vehicles will boost the enjoyment significantly!

DayZ generates excessive rendering work. It's not a GPU-heavy title; the CPU is the main constraint. The problem lies in cities, where every interior is fully drawn even when not in view or just a short distance away. Every furniture piece, table, weapon, etc. is processed.

I play the game smoothly on my Intel HD4000 and with an I7 2.6Ghz, achieving around 30fps in cities and 40-50 in the forest, which isn't too tough.

Someone mentioned the engine isn't well-suited for multiple cores and there are problems with rendering interiors.
