During play, the electricity went out and when I resumed the game, I experienced a disturbing dream. Using HxD didn’t save anything. Can you find a method to restore or fix my saved data?

Here are the details of your save files location. Replace "COSMO" with your username in AppData. You can easily find them from C:\ using a file explorer. There are two files: Main Save and Save.BAK. Change the non-BAK file and rename the .BAK file (without the .BAK extension) to test again.

I understand the file location. The issue is that it's damaged, and I don't have a backup.

I started with the first attempt, but it didn't function.

Ugh, that's not great... I hope you're able to resolve it. Do you have a lot of time in this save file?

If available on Steam and cloud sync is active, restoring from there might be possible.

It seems these "reasons" could be seen as poetic justice. However, a corrupted save is usually permanent unless you have a backup. You might want to check that thread, but it’s not helpful if you don’t have a backup. Likely you’ll need to restart and create new backups to avoid losing progress.
