You're observing a common scenario with mixed network conditions. The difference in speeds likely comes from how your system handles various tasks. The Dukto test probably measures overall bandwidth, which can be affected by background processes like syncing folders or other applications. When you run the synthing program, it uses more network resources, causing the speed to drop despite the total internet test showing higher throughput. SSD/HDD speeds remain stable because they're not being overwhelmed by file transfers. The key is that your setup has multiple simultaneous activities competing for bandwidth.

It might be better to just use Dukto instead, though that would be wasteful.

I don't have a direct recommendation, but you might consider alternatives like Duo or other security apps depending on your needs.

I don't rely on tools like yours; I'm not familiar with any specific apps. I handle file transfers using my own setup, including a NAS and a USB SSD.

Avoid relying solely on Windows' native file sharing since it lacks advanced features and flexibility.

Transferring numerous tiny files takes longer compared to a few big ones. Each file has its own start and stop points, affecting the total speed of the move.

It refers to file sharing and related features that Windows complicates. I've encountered problems with them before.

It's not just a mess. It's solidly backed, quick to use, and works across most platforms. Plus, it's quite reliable.
