Data loss and network delays occurring simultaneously on 5G and cable connections.
I'm not sure if this fits the right category but I'm unsure where to look further. It could be an electrical issue, a networking problem, or possibly RFI. I tried removing all network gear and switching to a direct Ethernet connection, but the problem persisted. It happens randomly across different PCs and games, with noticeable lag spikes in online games. The interference seems strong enough to affect both my 5G and landline connections, though I'm not sure what's causing it. It's confusing and hard to diagnose.
It's likely both the 5G connection and the Comcast landline come from the same service provider. Network overload might be causing the increased latency.
It means the connection is always busy, no matter the time of day. Whether it's early morning, late afternoon, or anything in between, the problem persists. This issue began a few months ago and has only intensified. I can't access DSL, cable, or 5G services—they all suffer from the same problem. Previously, it was mainly affected during games, but now it impacts Teams calls and Discord chats too. My priority is having a stable internet connection for my own use, not relying on others' networks.
Consider checking a nearby library or a decent spot with internet access, possibly at a different location. Think of "5G" as a mobile hotspot from your phone. Test in another area, far enough from the main tower, to see if the problem continues. If it does, it likely points to an issue with your devices.
The problem was clearly Comcast-related. After consulting multiple representatives and support staff at my place, they eventually admitted it was coming from further upstream. I’d been hinting about it all along. It took a week of testing internet connections before it finally worked out, but they never explained the actual issue.
