Hello everyone, I'm working on setting up a networking solution for the data center. We need around 500 virtual machines supporting 500 clients, each with a standard firewall for security. The goal is to manage network rules via the firewall while ensuring these machines can't communicate directly. One idea was creating separate VLANs per VM, but that seems impractical. Is there another way to connect the VMs from the firewall without duplicating networks? I'm looking for a more efficient approach to enable firewall-based connectivity and security policies.

I must admit it's hard to hear, but if you're being asked about something this big, it might be wiser to let someone with the right expertise handle it.

Honestly, if you're seeking advice on this, it's likely more effective to partner with a local firm capable of constructing the design. Handling creation versus upkeep represents a significant difference. Connecting with 500 distant customers isn't a simple task.

I share the views here, suggesting the query likely indicates you require a specialist contractor or third-party expert in enterprise datacenter networking. Confidence comes from knowing you'll be able to ask targeted questions and get help from the right sources. The only experience I've had at that level was handling some basic management duties, not architecture—those were on Fortinet Vdoms... Honestly, I couldn't share much more.

From a networking standpoint, their expertise ranges from beginner to advanced, but for practical insights into core concepts and mid-level projects, better channels exist. The current project appears underway, so it’s less about mastering the design and more about finding consultants. These situations rarely conclude positively.
