I attempted to detach a USB 3.0 port, but the connector remained stuck. The motherboard (Model X670E Taichi) hasn’t been used before. This situation is unusual, and I’ve already tried gently pulling it out. I found another header available and am preparing an RMA. Having a damaged header with unusable pins is frustrating. Are there any steps I should take if an RMA isn’t an option? Thank you.

Did the metal pins detach from the motherboard or was only the plastic casing removed? If the plastic shell came off, you should be able to reinsert it correctly. Search for a picture of your motherboard to confirm you haven’t flipped it 180 degrees. It’s meant solely to secure the connector, so as long as you connect it properly, you won’t need it.

Your USB 3.0 header appears to be in place, but the plastic component remains stuck. Can you try removing it gently or check if there’s a way to adjust it without damaging the connector. The header should match the image you shared. If you can’t use it, it might be possible to reattach the plastic piece. Let me know how it goes! Thanks!

You have a tool jammed due to friction. The main part remains functional, but verify the orientation of the plug.
