Damaged motherboard on a scratched Nintendo Switch.

I noticed some damage on the motherboard during the repair. The screen is overheating and shutting down after a short time, even though I replaced the screen. Could there be another issue causing this?

It's possible you're correct, but it's unclear what else might be involved. I suspect this could be the issue, so you can try fixing it and observe any changes. From the image, it looks like a conductor is partially exposed in the scratch.

It doesn't seem too bad, have you made sure all connections are secure? I think the visible cable is likely a fan connector.

Yeah I switched out every including sd card/game card slot battery and front housing (I buy a punch or repair switch’s from eBay) but no luck, the problem is definitely with the main board itself and everything looks fine except for this. i also can check cpu temp and that runs completely fine. and no that is speaker fan and it’s usually connected I just disconnected to get better pic

It doesn’t really matter much, and I’ve been using this configuration for a year now. Just adding thermal pads helps prevent sticking to the heat pipe, so I also used thermal paste. The temperatures in this setup are within normal ranges.

The thermals didn’t really cause an issue during my tests. I powered it on without it and the same problem persisted. I’ve used this configuration for a while now, since it’s supposed to improve performance and I haven’t encountered any issues before. Right after this scratch occurred, my switch started behaving oddly, so unless I overlooked something, it must be this.

I'd consider reopening it and checking that everything is correctly placed and linked, but I'm pretty sure this scratch wouldn't cause much harm.
