While I was enjoying God of War, my supporters got extremely excited. I checked the GPU temperature, which was 83 C°. It was within the expected range, but it still concerned me. I’ve heard that applying more thermal paste could help lower the temperature, so I did that. However, my thermal pads were worn out and applied poorly, making it hard to measure their thickness. I couldn’t locate any specs for the original pads and had to guess using a ruler and scraps. I bought Arctic pads in 1, 1.5 and 2mm sizes, but I’m unsure how to install them correctly or if the right amount was used. What should I do? I don’t want to buy another graphics card because I’m unsure about the thermal setup.

Typically found on memory chips and VRMs. A picture of the card and cooler would be useful. Just compare thicknesses and check for good contact. If they don’t use a thicker one, it might not fit well.
