Daily PC black screen protection
Daily PC black screen protection
I purchased this PC used about 2-3 months ago. It’s a 5070 Ti with 32GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 2-3 months ago. The motherboard is an Asus Tuf Gaming X570 Plus with 2-3 months of use. Recently, I’ve noticed black screens. Last night and now I was loading up Ready or not (last night it was peak). I usually shift tabs to check messages or accept invites, then press alt. My PC still has audio but black screens appear. This morning I ran DDU in safe mode and updated drivers. At first, I experienced crashes, likely driver-related since I haven’t had them recently. I think the issue came after updating a driver with the Doom Dark Ages path tracing fix. Around 576.80 it started. It looks like a GPU problem because audio still works and friends can usually hear me. Our power has been dropping a few times lately, possibly damaging something. I’m considering getting a UPS, but we’ve had many outages here before. If you know anything, please let me know. I’m not sure how to read Event Viewer if it helps.
I’m unable to do anything, everything freezes. No images appear. Yet I can still communicate with my friends—it’s odd. People say I’m slow or unresponsive.
I missed it. I purchased a new Corsair RMX 850 last Black Friday.
I discovered the 12V PHPR cable was difficult to connect to my GPU initially. I reached out to Corsair about a month ago and received a replacement soon after. It was challenging to remove, but no damage appears to have occurred. The crashes started around a week ago, possibly every other day.
I’m hoping it’s just drivers. I might reinstall the version Doom originally released. My main worry is hardware problems.
It had been a while since the last update and it got completely black-screened again. I was playing Golf With Friends, accidentally knocked my auto clicker on, which sent spam shots at my ball. I had to restart and re-host the site. My friends were invited through the shift tab, but the PC went black. No sound came through, only the clicker noise remained. I was also testing the sticky keys beep, which felt really strange.
