Hey everyone, I hope this post lands in the right place because it's my very first message here. It looks like something is wrong with a piece of software. A few days ago, my computer failed completely and had to be replaced with new parts like the motherboard, memory, processor, and power supply unit. Now everything runs fine and seems pretty stable. But if I try playing any games from Steam or even Battlefield 3, things get weird. The game starts working just right, but about ten minutes into it, it crashes and gives an error message that says "Unreal Engine is exiting because the graphics card (D3D device) has gone missing." After all that text follows up with a bunch of details that might help me figure this out. I've already tried checking my game files on Steam, updating them, installing new graphics drivers from scratch, and even setting my GPU to default settings like some people suggested online without making any progress. Any real ideas you guys could offer would be awesome, so please let me know if it helps. Thanks a bunch for reading!

Here are some used parts: a Geforce GTX 1070 graphics card, a 500-gigabyte Samsung 860 EVO solid state drive (for an operating system), another 1TB Samsung 860 EVO drive, and a 1TB Western Digital hard disk. Did you put your OS back after moving to this new setup?

Welcome to our community, new friend! Is this a full swap for your old software or just a better version? We'll need some details about your current setup to help you out. You can share that information through your system specifications.

yes no problem, it was just an upgrade from my old system with some recycled bits. New parts: Asus ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming WiFi motherboard, Intel i7-12700k processor, Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200mhz RAM (runs fine at 2133mhz but causes boot loops if set to 3200mhz), Corsair RMX 850x power supply, and H100x AIO cooler. Some parts were recycled: a GTX 1070 graphics card, two Samsung 860 EVO drives (OS and 1TB data), an SD card drive for storage, and a Western Digital hard drive. I hope that makes it clear lol.

I just crashed while playing bf3. This was the error message I got: The DirectX function GetDeviceRemovedReason didn't work correctly because it said DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG. It means the device hung up, and that happened because of badly formed commands. My GPU is an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 and my driver version is 51659.

Here are some used parts for a graphics card, a hard drive, and an operating system. Specifically: a GTX 1070, a 500 GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD, another 1 TB Samsung 860 EVO, and a 1 TB Western Digital HDD. Did you update your computer's software after moving to this new setup?
