It’s understandable to feel uneasy about this situation. The game seems quite disappointing.

No, it didn't resolve the issue.

I own a 3080 and a 6700k model experiencing identical crashes when using RT on them, typically lasting 10 to 40 minutes. Reducing the clock speed on the 3080 by -50mhz from stock didn't resolve the issue. I'm also running the 1.04 patch. So far, I haven't tried removing the OC from the i7 (it's at 4.5ghz) or lowering the XMP profile on my RAM from 3200mhz to 3000mhz. It seems RT is keeping the CPU fully loaded most of the time—around 85-100% usage—while with RT off it drops to 55-85%.

You're experiencing similar issues despite having a powerful setup. It seems DLSS settings are impacting performance, especially when using high settings or without RTX. Even with RTX alone, you're seeing crashes once DLSS is enabled. You're aiming for around 60 FPS and want to patch yourself if needed.

Fun to hear! Based on your setup, it seems the issue might be tied to your Steam version and recent updates. The 1.04 patch was released recently, so checking your current version could help. Also, ensure DLSS is enabled for quality and RT is turned off if you're comfortable with that.

Quality is solid and it works well. The main issue is performance and ultra settings, which I find frustrating since I prioritize consistent FPS over everything else. It seems the game doesn’t maintain stable FPS even when adjusting settings, except when DLSS is enabled for performance mode. It’s quite confusing because people report a wide range of problems with little clear connection between them. Thanks for sharing this information.

I recently tried quality DLS but it crashed, unlike yesterday. A friend shared some settings that still work but aren’t perfect—still functional. I’m using version 1.04. I reviewed my task manager graphs during the last test and found nothing unusual. No overclocking is done. It looks like the issue varies among users.

I experience unexpected crashes intermittently, sometimes after just ten to twenty minutes and occasionally lasting an hour. The system abruptly closes with a Flatline notification. Despite having RT enabled and all other configurations at their highest levels, DLSS remains set to performance mode. I intend to run the game without RT to determine if I can achieve smooth play. This title is quite frustrating—while performance problems exist, it also suffers from numerous bugs and glitches. I’m encountering issues like sniper beams penetrating cliffs, hitting through obstacles, vehicles passing through, items slipping out of reach, NPCs reacting erratically at close range, and NPCs being struck during cutscenes while I’m in the vehicle. It’s a constant cycle with no end.

From what I've seen in steam discussions, the problem appears to involve GPU boost settings and tensor cores struggling with higher clock speeds, leading to crashes under load. I've managed to play for about two hours at full settings using Ultra and DLSS on Qualcomm's platform, but when I lower my GPU by 200 MHz, it runs smoothly without issues. My current setup is a Gigabyte Gaming OC 3080 with boosted core speeds around 1950-2010 MHz; after underclocking to 200 MHz, it boosts up to 1770-1800 MHz and works well. Previously, it would crash constantly after 10 to 40 minutes. If you're still experiencing crashes, I'd appreciate hearing your experience with similar underclocking strategies.

It functioned well for you in the 2070s, running at 200MHz without any issues.
