Thank you... I currently have only the desktop PC connected, the modem isn't yet plugged in. There are no other devices attached, and I'm only planning to connect the modem. The UPS plug has its ground prong and is connected to the wall. The software panel on the desk shows nothing.
The network equipment includes their own UPS systems. This ensures the greatest duration of operation during power interruptions.
Actually, I just called Cyberpower instead of sending an email. He didn't grasp why the UPS isn't connecting to the PC on the dashboard. The workaround...download cyberpower business...local ver 4.21.0. After installing it, I still faced the same issues. He suggested opening a browser and typing localhost:3052/local, which got me to an interface through my browser. Nice!
I believe the rep was talking about the app's functionality rather than the actual UPS device. It functions regardless of whether the PC is powered on or off.
Power backup and surge protection serve distinct roles in that unit. Surge protection remains active at all times, safeguarding the entire UPS—covering both power-protected connections and those not linked to the UPS. I anticipate the software monitoring tool you received only verifies the normal operation of power-protected outlets and the battery, without inspecting surge protection.
