Hey everyone, here’s what I’ve set up: CPU – AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Motherboard – GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX, Case – Corsair 7000D Airflow, GPU – GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4080, Super Windforce 16G, GSKill Trident Z5 RGB (2x16GB, 6400MHz, DDR5), Thermal paste – Thermal Grizzly AMD Mycro Direct-Die Pro RGB. I used a custom loop with Corsair XR5 420 NEO radiator, Alphacool 200 Aurora reservoir, and an Apex pump from Alphacool VPP. I also added Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut paste.

During testing, I ran PBO at 90 Level 3, undervolting all cores by -20 and using XMP 1 profile. When idle at around 39°C with background programs, it stayed stable. Full load with Cinebench reached about 87°C – is that typical or should I adjust something?

Typical performance for a Ryzen 7000 series CPU. Even under heavy load, temperatures remain manageable. Feel free to ask for more details on Ryzen 7000 models and their operation. I can share two video links.

Yes, I understand. Here’s a clearer version:

I see you’re confused, even more so. That’s okay. Let me make it simple for you.

I’ll keep the temperatures steady and the cooling on for your 5000D. I’m seeing -30 across all cores with PBO enabled, plus the stock PBO settings. What temperatures are you checking during gameplay?

Even confused. The Ryzen 7000 models aim for a base temperature of 95°C and attempt to maintain it before reducing performance or slowing down. In short: most Ryzen CPUs strive for 95°C, and the better the cooling solution, the higher the clock speed at that temperature. Timed footage from GamersNexus explains this in detail, with a summary available at the 24:15 mark. Video by JayzTwoCents, clear and concise about CPU power and heat management.

Using the X3D with chip modifications allows you to maintain peak performance up to around 95°C, even with added insulation.

The processor isn't hitting 95°C, which means it's operating safely and within normal ranges. I'm focusing on comparing its performance to other CPUs available in the market, especially when contrasted with designs like AM4 or the 12700K.

Sure, I'm just emphasizing that it's fine as long as it doesn't reach 95°C, and reaching there isn't necessary for it to function properly.
