I believe many folks (not in this group) have advised increasing RAM to 32GB rather than sticking with 16. With current pricing, it would have made more sense to purchase earlier instead of following confusing tech recommendations. Still, there’s a small silver lining—some motherboard costs have dropped significantly lately.

It's known as Black Friday, right? I managed to assemble almost an entire computer using discounts during the early days of the pandemic. At that time, GPUs and power supplies were hard to find.

I anticipate moving to more advanced cloud computing and AI capabilities in the future. For now, I’m relying on a budget CPU because I don’t expect demanding tasks for the next year or so.

I expected the GPU prices to jump after the new Blackwell and super cards came out, but I've been saving for two years to get this setup. I took responsibility for not buying extra RAM earlier, just hoping to have everything together at once. Techtubers aren't relevant here. It seems I might have discovered a workaround, though it's even more let down that they claimed the price was standard.

They may have misled you. Prices change often due to market needs. It’s unlikely anyone intentionally deceived you.

They clearly misled everyone. Sure, fuel costs fluctuate, but saying the price has always been this way ignores the truth.

Captured the message from the email where they mention prices have consistently been "that price." Interpreting "this is the normal price" means it applies to the current situation. It’s similar to purchasing gold—you receive the price at the moment you make the offer, not a historical one.

It’s nearly unfeasible to buy a 2x16GB DDR5 stick any more, since prices have jumped past $300 and now rival the cost of a chip. What upgrades are you thinking about?

Don't upgrade unless you really need it. Sure, there are other options for getting more RAM, but from what I've seen on the forum, some folks avoid that idea.

I understand Taobao, but purchasing there carries risks. If you receive a DOA or fake product, returns may be possible without shipping fees if the seller follows proper policies. Always check the return conditions before buying.
