We all understand the rising costs of DDR5 memory because of the expansion of data centers for AI. I recently completed my savings for a 1440p system and now need to invest more in RAM and GPU... but I didn’t want to start this process alone. I reached out to Samsung, Patriot, and TEAMGROUP in hopes of securing a special offer on just 32GB of DDR5 6000 CL30. However, they all replied the same: we can’t give you a discounted price since DDR5 is still new and manufacturing these chips is very expensive for under $200 average. I haven’t found any RAM matching these specifications for less than $250. Am I missing something, or is this just misleading information?

The memory price trends are outlined on the site you shared. The graphs clearly show the direction. DDR5 and 4 will likely remain expensive, especially by 2026 as many forecasts predict. Precise timing is still uncertain.

It’s only relevant if you encounter someone who doesn’t know much on a used marketplace. For the second point, you repeated the opening sentence of your message.

It's puzzling they took any effort at all. They don't target individual buyers, especially not for small orders. Even major brands like AMD and Nvidia are struggling to secure RAM right now since stock has run out.

Run a modest PC repair business, placing orders via your company account for limited stock.

I watched a video comparing CL38 and CL30 RAM. The gap was minimal, only a slight difference in frames per second. I verified that a 32GB DDR5 6000CL38 module is quite affordable. Edited November 25, 2025 by leclod

I also heard from a friend about considering this option, but I’m frustrated since I saved more at the start of the year.

Typically, DDR5 6000MT/s chips with any label on the box show CL30 to CL84 without issues. However, as @leclod mentioned, the variation is minor and usually not significant in everyday use.

Even without being a typical shopper, I'd be shocked if a local repair service could secure special agreements, particularly these days. SK Hynix has reportedly exhausted its entire 2026 DRAM, NAND, and HBM production. Samsung and Micron are struggling to meet the demand as well. This means whoever bids the most will take whatever remains, with no special arrangements at the moment.

Many people were puzzled by his success. For me, just that fact alone turned the question into something meaningful.
