You're testing your i7 3770K at high temperatures for extended periods. Based on typical performance trends, pushing it consistently in that range could strain the hardware over time. It's wise to aim for a cooler operating temperature—targeting 80–85°C or lower—to preserve reliability. If you push it higher, you risk long-term damage.

It fits the specifications and is fine. However, some think it might reduce CPU lifespan slightly, though I've never experienced or heard of a failed chip (except with extreme overclocking). Why is it so hot? Is it due to excessive overclocking or a poor cooling solution?

4.6 ghz running botw across all 8 threads at 100% with gd900 thermal paste and tx3, but the cooler feels like the pipes are blocked. I’ve noticed better results online.

They shouldn't be blocked. It's possible they're just not damaged, so the leak was just gas escaping. That won't happen again. Are you turning the fan at a normal speed? Also, I haven't heard of that paste before—what is it? The simplest fix might be replacing the cooler and cleaning it out. If those changes don't work, it might be time for a larger one.

cooler was definitely a good deal. The gd900 is a Chinese paste rated for MX5, priced at just one buck. I checked the techyescity comparison on thermal pastes and found the RPM limit is around 2500. I’ll see what else I can do.

Use a solid paste and reduce overclocking slightly. 90°C isn’t ideal for the CPU.

I'm accustomed to 4k rpm fans, which means it's very quiet for me xd
