Seeking boards with built-in PCI requires checking older chip designs. Modern boards rely on PCI-E to PCI bridge chips or PCI-E X1 to PCI controllers, which may not always be fully compatible with PCI. AM3+ is likely the final AMD model supporting native PCI. Possibly newer options exist with AM3+ or FM2 sockets, but AM3+ remains the most reliable. For Intel, it's unclear when PCI was removed, but LGA1366 seems to be the last major version. Even with a PCI-E X1 to PCI adapter, you might face driver issues and incompatibility with Windows 10 or 11.
I followed the same steps for the same reasons, and the "Old" card sounds significantly better than the one I used across various boards and higher-end models. PC-related issues often stem from missing drivers, but functionality isn't guaranteed just because an old card is used. It might offer improved sound, reduced latency, or better overall performance, yet without a working driver it won’t function. If you prefer a more reliable setup, consider a DAC instead of relying on your built-in sound. For better audio quality, invest in an external EQ and tube preamp—audio can be costly and complex. I’ve nearly reached the edge before, but with DJ headphones and a decent DAC, I managed to stay on track.
I've discovered (likely) the final MBs that support PCI slot and CSM BIOS compatibility are the so-called "industrial" motherboards. These are probably the most capable, costly, and still maintain CSM mode, PCI slots, and even Win7x64SP1 functionality. They feature 2nd generation Scalable CPUs and include models such as:

If you're unsure about Win7x64SP1 compatibility on 2xLGA3647 boards, check the attached images from ebay. For those with LGA3647 that are still viable and demand high power, there are cheaper alternatives like LGA1200 or LGA1700 boards (e.g., ASMB-787G2, Asrock 1711/1711 ECC, Asus Q470EA, MSI MS-98K9-V2.1, MSI MS-98N9-W480e, Supermicro X11SCA).
