Everyone, I own an i7 4790K with a Hyper-212, and my temperatures swing between 85°F in full load and 45°F at 4.4GHz. Is that okay? Should it be lower? Could it affect the CPU lifespan?
I would personally clean and remount the cooler. If that doesn’t work, reduce the output current and voltage slightly.
I placed it two days ago using mx4 thermal paste, and I’m not sure if I did it wrong. I don’t think so.
It depends on the situation. You might consider adjusting the voltage for better performance.
It's not that high a temperature, which means cooling is necessary. How often do you experience full CPU usage in everyday situations?
Sometimes it varies, usually achieving 85 to 90 percent with an angle of about 75 to 80 degrees.
I purchased it this week and it looks brand new overall. I believe I didn’t damage it; I checked benchmarks with a similar model and noticed the temperatures were lower.
