Two crashes occurred, one due to an invalid pointer and another from an invalid address during pointer writing. Memory issues are likely involved. It's strange it didn't trigger bluescreening. The main concerns seem to be RAM, the CPU's memory controller, and storage—both of which typically cause at least some BSODs.
I attempted to switch to a 2060 GPU and run without Discord, but it keeps crashing in ER. The RAM and motherboard are fresh, and the M2 SSD is new too. Is the game broken now? It worked well when it first launched, but this has turned into a nightmare. I spoke to Blizzard about Overwatch crashes; they suggested a BIOS update because of problems with 13th gen Intel CPUs, though that seems unnecessary. I'm really doubtful about updating again since it caused my last board CrashDumps.zip issue.
Turn off all unnecessary third-party apps such as Discord Afterburner before launching Elden Ring. This helped me identify the right setup. When you begin the game, try starting Windows Services with the default configuration—disable anything you don’t need.
I attempted that but it didn’t change anything. Blizzard advised disabling Hyperthreading, Intel Turbo Boost, Turbo Boost Max 3.0 and Enhance Multi Core Performance, which seemed to resolve my issues. I think the OW crashes are also a factor since I haven’t tried them yet. However, I managed to play ER for 50 minutes without any problems.
Well, if you're not into pushing things to their limits, you probably won't enjoy these anyway.
