Compatibility Support Module (CSM) is used to mimic BIOS in UEFI. This will result in the OS formatting the drive with MBR. Consider using it only if you have an older OS (doesn’t support GPT partitions) or devices that need this feature enabled. Intel plans to stop supporting CSM this year, making it a legacy option.

this website has a good article on the only reasons that makes sense to enable CSM it should not be enabled unless you have a valid reason. https://www.rodsbooks.com/efi-bootloader...-ugly.html ie older hardware or an operating system that doesnt support gpt partitions. you can still boot from dvd drive to install the OS, you do not need a usb drive with CSM disabled. just keep it disabled unless you need it, in the majority cases you wont
