Please do not put the entire question into the title next time. It makes it look ugly.

Dota 2 TI5 offers a $18 million prize pool. It’s the largest tournament you might not have heard of. Steam Stat shows it draws nearly double the players at any time compared to CS:GO. Since the game is free to play, it’s possible that the crowd-funded Compendium Prize Pool also attracts players who enjoy CS:GO.

I wouldn't enter pro either, but if I had to pick, it would be CS. Mostly because I don't like MOBA games. Plus, the Asian side of Dota is taking over the scene, just like Europe dominates CS.

That's another poor illustration. Free games usually attract more players. More players don't necessarily mean the game is better to compete against. Instead, it shows how tougher it is to reach the top. Regarding prize money, Valve chose not to run a single large championship for CSGO. They also used a compendium as part of their funding model for major events. Dota 2's success comes largely from its sales, not just the compendium.

CSGO seems quite affordable. The argument is that if Dota players can purchase compendium four times a year (as proof) at prices higher than CSGO, it shows they prioritize Dota 2 more. Money doesn’t seem to be the main concern for most serious players. Regarding competitiveness, it’s not about player numbers or prize pools—it’s about how we assess a game’s level of competition. Dota 2 actually hosts more tournaments.

In my posts I rarely mention Dota2 being competitive. What I usually say is that you can't compare competitiveness or decide which game suits pro play best using statistics about current player activity or the scale of prize pools—though such comparisons are unlikely to ever occur.

It seems your message is clear but could benefit from smoother phrasing. Here’s a revised version:

Mark my words—it will happen again, at least over the next ten years. Dota 2 is gradually drawing in more serious and experienced LoL players, and the community continues to grow (just like in CoD, while Dota 2 resembles CSGO). There’s significantly more development happening in Dota 2 compared to any other MOBA right now. You mentioned CSGO is better, but I tried to suggest otherwise. Honestly, both games are strong, and comparing them directly doesn’t make much sense. As a newcomer, I find that CSGO has more hackers, which frustrates me to the point where I don’t enjoy the game as much.

Media reading skills received a deduction. I've partially understood both scenes. My experience with Dota2 spans roughly two years from TI3 to TI4, and CS is about 1.6 times better. I won't claim a clear advantage. Progression in competitive play seems easier for CS, though this is just my view. Comparing games that differ in genre is challenging. For specific matches like LoL vs Dota2, I'd favor Dota2. For CSGO versus Halo/Cod, I'd choose CSGO at all times.

You're focusing on the competitive landscape rather than the genre itself. For instance, Dota 2 had only one major tournament at a time, and failing there could end your career, whereas CS:GO offers numerous tournaments throughout the year, allowing teams to compete regularly instead of focusing on just one event each season.
