CSGO stuttering resolution.
CSGO stuttering resolution.
I recently assembled a new gaming PC and have been playing CSGO, achieving approximately 200-300 frames per second on max settings. However, it doesn't feel entirely smooth and I’m inexplicably bothered by this. I am unable to determine why the frame rate is not capped at 300. Could you offer any suggestions?
My hardware components are performing optimally: the GPU and CPU have been stress-tested, exhibiting normal temperatures with no issues.

Windows offers numerous advanced power settings that can be customized. This guide demonstrates how to locate processor power management options within these advanced settings and explore minimum/maximum state configurations. Examine the screenshot depicting the third-to-last image to understand the window’s appearance. Experiment with 10% and 20% settings, comparing results using either Ryzen balance or Windows balance, and adjust the minimum state accordingly for each chosen setting.
Experiment with enhanced sync settings within Adrenaline, testing on and off functionalities alongside various synchronization methods. Aim for frame rates within the Freesync range, limiting it to 144 fps to mitigate potential micro jitters resulting from unsynchronized frames. Alternatively, cap fps at 143 in CS:GO or utilize Vsync.
Yes, games may seem to lag when the frames per second exceeds the screen’s capability. Vertical synchronization can assist with this issue.
I attempted to disable it, limiting my frame rate to 144, but it consistently lowered to 100. Utilizing the command -threads 32 was the only solution, though Counter-Strike: Global Offensive struggled to run with that many threads. My frame rate was successfully maintained at 300, yet the game experienced instability, and attempts with configurations of 4-6-8-12 failed.
Investigating optimal Adrenaline settings for CSGO could reveal a compatibility issue. Considering your processor’s multi-core capability, it's conceivable that CSGO utilizes only two threads, leading to periods of low activity and potential sleep mode. Check your power plan; switching to Ryzen/Windows balanced with a minimum processor state of 10% and incrementally increasing it from there might be beneficial, instead of utilizing the high performance setting.
