1) Results are straightforward: winning earns you points, losing takes them away.
2) Being the top performer in a win brings extra points; reaching a target gives you points, dropping below loses points and drops your rank. Exact point values aren't clear.
I've placed high scores several times during losses. I've also achieved a win and a derank once.
