You're experiencing a significant drop in performance on your 980 Ti STRIX setup. It sounds like the issue might be related to outdated or incompatible drivers, or possibly hardware limitations. Consider checking for the latest graphics drivers, ensuring your system meets the minimum requirements, and verifying that your RAM is functioning properly. If the problem persists, running a clean installation of Windows or trying a different graphics card could help.

Checked Task Manager for any problems—like memory leaks or processes consuming resources. It seems RAM usage is high and several programs are using up your CPU.

Download gpu-z, verify load and TDP. Ensure it's the GPU startup. Look for driver issues or Firestrike fixes.

GPU isn't the best option, CSGO mainly relies on CPU processing power.

It was odd at first. The program ran smoothly at 15 frames per second. When I checked Task Manager, everything seemed normal. Then I reopened the software and suddenly it sped up to over 100 frames per second. What a surprise!

Currently I need to launch Task Manager and then shut it down to fix the FPS problems...

I understand, he likely has a top-of-the-line processor that should handle it smoothly.

You need to launch the CS file, hit the Windows key, check your desktop, then return to CS—your frame rate comes up to 115 FPS. This is frustrating.

Even with a top-tier CPU, problems might arise like overheating or memory leaks. Or perhaps using Chrome.

The high frame rate isn't always steady. Your RAM consumption varies. You've explored using a borderless window mode. I've resolved many problems with various games before.
