I recently acquired a desktop computer assembled by a friend, and I’m interested to see if it can handle games in the mid-range category. When I play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and move around, my frame rate experiences sudden dips, however, when I’m simply watching other players, the gameplay is consistently fluid. Below are the computer's specifications:

Processor: Intel i3-8100
CPU Cooler: Darkflash Shadow
Motherboard: Gigabyte H310M A
Memory: Patriot 8GB DDR4
Graphics Card: EVGA GTX 960
Storage: Gigastone 512GB SSD
Power Supply: OCZ Silencer 470W
Case: Montech Flyer
Fans: 3 Aigo 120mm RGB fans + 2 FZVAN

Considering these components, is this system suitable for playing mid-range video games?

Within Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, sufficient RAM is acceptable, even with 6GB, provided other applications aren't consuming your system’s memory. To assess this, use Ctrl+Alt+Del to open Task Manager and monitor RAM usage while actively playing the game; ensure you’re alt-tabbing to observe real-time figures. Your graphics card and processor meet the minimum requirements for smooth gameplay at 144 frames per second or higher.

Adding an additional 8 gigabytes of memory suggests that's likely the reason. What levels are you utilizing in your game?

I am presently using Medium. I believe the processor is certainly powerful enough to operate games at an acceptable frame rate, and I suspect either my graphics card or memory is the limiting factor.

Using multiple programs simultaneously—like having open internet windows or audio applications—will necessitate increased memory, and this is typically a reasonably priced improvement. It should modestly enhance frame rates, though it may not completely resolve the issue; therefore, exploring a graphics card upgrade is advisable for the future. Additionally, consider reducing some secondary visual settings until you can address the performance limitations you're currently encountering. Furthermore, while I don’t play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, if a setting or configuration file exists that permits allocating additional memory specifically to the game, it could provide significant benefits.

Does the display screen connect to the graphics card instead of the main circuit board?

Within Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, 6 gigabytes of RAM is generally sufficient, though it might become a constraint if other applications are consuming significant memory. To assess this, utilize the Ctrl+Alt+Del shortcut to access Task Manager, and monitor RAM usage while actively playing the game. It’s crucial to observe this data while alt-tabbing between windows, ensuring accurate reflection of in-game memory consumption. Your graphics card and processor are adequately equipped to handle standard visuals at frame rates of 144 frames per second or higher.
