I just upgraded my CPU and CS:GO is experiencing poor FPS drops and stuttering. My rig has an I7 6700K, 16GB DDR4, GTX 970, and a 650-watt power supply. Anyone know why this might be happening? I tried adjusting the settings all day but nothing fixed it.

You don't need to revert; testing with the latest driver is recommended.

Check if temperatures rise during gameplay and search for any dips. Consider using MSI after the burner setup or overclocking.

While playing games, temperatures reach their highest levels, but only the game I struggle with is CS; nothing gets overclocked.

CSGO's optimization isn't perfect, some users face issues even on high-end systems. There were times I experienced significant FPS drops that made the game difficult to play. Recently, a patch was released addressing these problems, and after it, many professional and semi-pro players reported stable performance with average FPS above 300.
