CSGO FPS Drop Problem
CSGO FPS Drop Problem
Hello.
I've been experiencing unusual FPS drops in CSGO lately. It occurs on specific maps like De_Dust2, especially on short and A sites. The frames per second fall to around 60-100.
My PC setup is:
i7-8700k
GTX 1080
16GB RAM @ 3200Mhz
500GB Samsung 970EVO
I've tried reinstalling the game, updating display drivers, and other fixes.
I would normally run DDU in safe mode, then clean and restart, returning to normal mode, installing the latest WHQL driver, and let us see how CS:GO performs. Keep in mind you should maintain around 200fps regardless of resolution. Your system seems solid enough—this might just be a software or Windows issue. The game should run smoothly on your hardware. Also, note that CS:GO is quite CPU-intensive and not fully optimized for today’s GPUs. What frame rate do you achieve, and what happens when it drops?
I receive around 250-300 frames per second but it drops to 90-120 at times.
I've disabled CAM software for tasks (some users said NZXT CAM causes fps issues).
I'm using iCue, Thundermaster, Aura, and Logitech gaming software (all with default settings) – no GPU overclocking or similar changes.
