CSGO crashes after overclock
CSGO crashes after overclock
My CPU runs very smoothly
(i7-6700k) at 4.4ghz
with the built-in game boost overclock on my motherboards (z170a krait)
but it appears
cs-go is the only game that causes crashes.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this without disabling the overclock? Thanks to anyone who can help.
What options do you have for GPU and PSU? How can you be sure it is stable?
Verify that your bios are current. I recall hearing about MSI problems with their Z170 mobos. Are you confident your OC is working well? How many hours of Prime95 (or similar) have you tested? An unstable OC might boot into desktop yet remain unreliable. Does it function properly with other titles?
If you mean a crash, does your system power off completely? Does the screen turn black? What symptoms are you experiencing? If the graphics driver is failing, it could stem from a defective GPU, outdated drivers, or an inadequate power supply (low wattage or insufficient current). Please share your specifications and any overclocking details, along with voltages and temperatures. Thank you.
ZachyBeat is asking to verify that your bios information is current. They recall issues with MSI Z170 mobos and want assurance your OC runs smoothly. They inquire about the stability of your setup, how long you've run Prime95 or similar, and possible symptoms like crashes or display problems. They suggest checking GPU drivers, power supply quality, and voltage/temperature readings. The message also mentions that updated drivers can sometimes cause unexpected issues and advises caution.
